To introduce myself, my name is Philip Barton, founder of Lakeland Meats, and my aim and commitment to you is to deliver top quality meat, in perfect condition to your door at your convenience.
In order to reassure you of what qualifies me to make (and keep!) such promises, I would like to furnish you with a little background information of my experience and the long history of what has been a family business for many years.
At the tender age of sixteen I was encouraged by my father William Barton to join what was a family business of thirty years standing, at the time.
I joined my father and learned from him the skills required to have a loyal customer base which incorporated both the retail and catering sector.
Fast forward to 1999 (a full 23 years later!) and I started my own company "Philip Barton Wholesale Meats Ltd" an EEC approved factory, dedicated to supplying high quality restaurants and hotels.
Carrying on the legacy, experience and principles learned from my father on what had been a long apprenticeship!
The leap from the start of my company, to supplying meat online has been a challenge for one so totally at odds with the technical age!
However the continued feedback and requests from our restaurant and hotel customers, who wished to purchase our products, has led me to make the leap required and do what I have been best trained to do, which is to supply the very best quality, locally sourced meat, taking account of the environment and committed to animal welfare and sustainability.
